Dates of when calibrations, inspections and repairs are carried out can be found on labels positioned in or close to the tachograph head. It should be noted that labels for the radio sized modular and digital tachographs are often to be found either on the door, door posts or seat frame.
The "calibration label" date must not be more than six years old if it's an anologue type or two years for digital. If it is, then an inspection must be carried out immediately. If the date is more than two years old, then there should also be a "two yearly inspection" label. This label must not be more than two years old otherwise a further two yearly inspection must be carried out. For digital tachographs only, the two year inspection will in fact be very similar to a full calibration and will therefore have a new calibration label rather than a two year inspection label fitted.
